Leading influencer marketing company Influencer has announced the appointment of Carly Ash, as head of heart, Tom Cooper-Smith as client director, and Jason Surroop, as group head of the WPP patch. Committed to welcoming the very best talent in the industry, these additions will aid the company’s progression in becoming the category leader in the influencer marketing space.
Ash offers a wide ranging skill set from her experience at MyDrive Solutions Limited and Axis Europe, acting as both people operations manager and office manager. As an exceptionally diligent individual, her experience has seen her assist with human resource management, and strategic planning for internal teams and external clients. The Influencer team has seen exponential growth, from 15 to 50 people in the year from January 2019 to January 2020. Ash will be working alongside CEO Ben Jeffries and CVO Caspar Lee as they continue to scale the Influencer team, both at their UK headquarters and internationally.
Cooper-Smith brings over 10 years of strategic and commercial marketing experience to the team, drawing on previous roles as business director at Whalar where he managed the full EMEA client services function across FMCG, Alcohol, Travel, Fashion, Beauty, Tech & Auto, and NBCUniversal Media where his role saw him develop global content distribution and marketing plans for award-winning films and documentaries. Cooper-Smith’s passion for content, interest in technology, and in-depth understanding of data has seen him lead teams to deliver successful multi-channel campaigns for global brands including Disney, Heineken, Mars, Danone, Vodafone and Hyatt. Cooper-Smith will be working closely with Influencer’s strategy & partnerships director Nik Speller, to ensure that Influencer continues to deliver highly creative influencer marketing campaigns that are based on intelligent global data.
In addition, Surroop brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked at Innovid, MediaCom and Starcom MediaVest Group in both director of agency relation and marketplace manager roles. During his time, Surroop has driven effective video advertising through data-driven, personalised video creation and offered in-depth consultation on all digital activity. Together, they will support the company’s core commitment in championing a new era of creativity.
