There have been so many amazing creators to celebrate in 2020, with creatives having more time to dedicate to their craft and many new faces rising up the ranks. However, we've narrowed it down to our top 5 creators who have really made their mark in 2020, and have risen above the rest.

Reni Eddo-Lodge

Reni has been a guiding light for many this year, as she has shared her amazing knowledge and experience on the topic of racism. As the #BlackLivesMatter movement took off, Reni was able to offer a voice of change and educate her audience on the issues facing black people.

Her book ‘Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race’, published in June, saw her become the first black British author to take the overall No 1 spot in the UK’s official book charts. Her content channels have been going from strength to strength as people tune into her wisdom.

Joel Wood

Joel is a lifestyle creator who has grown in popularity in 2020. He began his creator journey on YouTube, but has more recently been growing an Instagram following thanks to his his honest and authentic content.

After coming out publicly in 2020, Joel has made his mark as an LGBTQ+ creator and has been able to offer his audience relatable content throughout the year. He also has a very sweet sprocker spaniel that features in lots of his feel-good content too! We caught up with him back in June for an interview, if you'd like to hear more about his journey and his involvement in the LGBTQ+ community. .

Oenone

Oenone really made her mark in 2020, with her highly creative comedic content, podcast material and live comedy gigs too. Oenone also hosts a book club and is always sharing insightful book reviews which has given us some good reading recommendations during lockdowns.

As well as this, Oenone has helped her audience stay up to date with social issues and offered her platform to highlight black and minority voices. This content has been crucial in 2020, and we love that she’s used her privilege to magnify other voices.

Charlie D’Amelio

Charlie took the TikTok world by storm in 2020, becoming the first person to amass 100 million followers. She has been a key creator at the heart of TikTok trends in 2020, making dance videos that have gone viral across the globe. Many believe her to be the biggest TikTok star to date.

Addison Rae

Everyone loves Addison Rae’s content, after she rose to fame by posting a video dancing with her mom, Sheri. In the video, they can be seen dancing to a Mariah Carey song that the singer herself liked on the platform. Her popularity with the celeb quickly gained a lot of attention and put her in the spotlight.

Since then Addison has gone from strength to strength, being popular for her TikTok dances and comedy content. In 2020 Addison became best buddies with Kourtney Kardashian, which further amplified her success.
